CVE-2023-0723Network attack vector

Folder structure changes via missing AJAX nonce

Published Feb 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Cross-site request forgery in Wicked Folders 2.18.16 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter folder assignments via a forged AJAX request. The ajax_move_object handler processes move parameters without validating a WordPress nonce, causing the request to execute with the administrator's session. A logged-in site administrator must follow an attacker-controlled link; the resulting request changes the plugin's folder structure.
