Folder-structure modification via missing capability check
Published Feb 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Wicked Folders 2.18.16 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter the plugin's folder structure. The ajax_save_sort_order function accepts an AJAX request and updates sort-order data without checking that the caller has the administrative capability required for that action. A subscriber account is sufficient; the documented consequence is unauthorized modification of the plugin-maintained folder structure.
