Unauthenticated file upload via double-extension validation bypass
Published Aug 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Roxnor/Wpmet MetForm 3.2.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to place dangerous files through public forms. The file-data-validation.php upload validator checks only the final benign extension, allowing a malicious inner extension to pass its type validation. No WordPress account is required; code execution follows only where the web server treats the earlier extension as executable.
