Subscriber-level folder modification via missing capability check
Published Feb 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Wicked Folders 2.18.16 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter the plugin's folder structure. The ajax_add_folder handler accepts subscriber-initiated AJAX requests without checking the capability required for this administrator-only operation. Any subscriber account can therefore perform the folder operation without gaining broader WordPress administrative access.
