Buffer overflow in GNU C Library 2.38 Call Graph Monitor allows context-dependent attackers to corrupt profiling memory during call recording. __monstartup underallocates the froms arc table, and _mcount uses an unchecked derived index to write past the profiling buffer. Reachability requires control of addresses in a gmon-enabled profiled application, which itself requires a separate security flaw; upstream disputes any security impact.
