User password change via forged updatePwd request
Published Feb 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in XXL-JOB 2.3.1 allows remote attackers to change an authenticated user’s password via /user/updatePwd. The password-change handler accepts a state-changing request under the victim’s active session without independently verifying request intent. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to load attacker-controlled content, after which the victim’s password is replaced.
