CVE-2023-0665Network attack vector

PKI mount disruption via missing endpoint authorization

Published Mar 30, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Improper authorization in HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise allows remote attackers to disrupt a configured PKI mount. The PKI issuer endpoint handlers accept unauthenticated requests to delete an issuer or modify issuer metadata without enforcing the required path capabilities. Exploitation requires an enabled PKI mount; it can interrupt that mount but does not affect key material, trust chains, or certificate issuance.
