Account compromise via unenforced password strength
Published Feb 2, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Weak password requirements in PHPGurukul Employee Leaves Management System 1.0 allow remote attackers to guess weak administrator passwords. The admin/changepassword.php handler accepts matching newpassword and confirmpassword values as short as one character after validating the current password. An administrator must first choose a weak password through an authenticated session; successful guessing then grants access to that administrator account.
