CVE-2023-0628

Container command execution via crafted initialization URL

Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025

Command injection in Docker Desktop before 4.17.0 allows attackers to run arbitrary commands in a Dev Environments container. The docker-desktop URL handler accepts a crafted initialization URL that supplies a container command, but Docker has not disclosed the faulty parsing or validation locus. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious link; execution is confined to the initializing Dev Environments container.
