CVE-2023-0610Network attack vector

Cross-account annotation tampering via missing ownership checks

Published Feb 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 26, 2025

Improper authorization in wallabag before 2.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to modify or delete other users' annotations. The annotation controller accepts an arbitrary annotation ID on PUT and DELETE requests and changes or removes the object without verifying its owner. Any logged-in account can tamper with another user's annotations and infer highlighted entry text through response differences.
