Unauthenticated SQL injection via visitorId concatenation
Published May 15, 2023 · Updated Jan 24, 2025
SQL injection in WP Visitor Statistics before 6.9 allows remote attackers to alter database queries through visitor tracking requests. The public wmcTrack action concatenates the visitorId parameter into an SQL query without escaping, so quote-bearing input changes the query syntax. No authentication is required; the demonstrated payload causes a database delay, and broader data access depends on the WordPress database account's privileges.
