Code injection in GE Digital Proficy iFIX 6.1, 6.5, and 2022 allows local users to gain full control of the HMI software. The web server executes configuration files from an expected path where insufficient access controls permit malicious files to be inserted. A low-privileged local account with write access to that path is required, and successful execution compromises the HMI software.
