Subscriber-level attachment deletion via unchecked AJAX action
Published Aug 16, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2024
Missing authorization in REST API TO MiniProgram 4.6.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary attachments. The exopite-sof-file-batch-delete AJAX action accepts attacker-supplied media-ids values and performs attachment deletion without authorization or CSRF validation. Subscriber access is sufficient, and successful exploitation removes selected media from the WordPress site.
