Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Stored XSS in Campaign URL Builder before 1.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The shortcode handler outputs attacker-controlled wrapper, style, class, form, and custom_parameters values without validation or escaping. Contributor access, an enabled shortcode, and a configured Bitly API key are required; the script executes when a user opens the injected page.
