Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Feb 27, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Stored XSS in Donation Block For PayPal before 2.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The size attribute is inserted into rendered page HTML without validation or output escaping, so event-handler markup remains executable. Contributor-level publishing access and a visitor who opens the crafted page are required; the injected script runs in that visitor's browser context.
