Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published May 8, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Enable/Disable Auto Login when Register 1.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter plugin settings. The options-general.php settings handler accepts add_opt_submit POST requests and writes alwr_enable_auto_login without validating a nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to submit an attacker-controlled request, and the demonstrated consequence is disabling automatic login.
