CVE-2023-0509Network attack vector

Download interception and modification via disabled certificate verification

Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Mar 31, 2025

Improper certificate validation in pyLoad before 0.5.0b3.dev44 allows remote attackers to read and alter outbound HTTPS download traffic. The HttpRequest.init_handle method sets pycurl.SSL_VERIFYPEER to 0, so outbound HTTPS transfers accept certificates without verifying their trust. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle position between the instance and a contacted server, exposing downloaded content to disclosure or modification.
