CVE-2023-0507Network attack vector

Admin account takeover via unsanitized map attribution

Published Mar 1, 2023 · Updated Jan 28, 2026

Stored XSS in the GeoMap core plugin in Grafana allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through map attributions. The attribution renderer inserts Editor-controlled attribution text without adequate sanitization, so script code persists in a dashboard and runs in a viewer session. An Editor must save the crafted panel and an Administrator must view the dashboard; execution in that session allows the Editor to reset the Administrator password.
