Arbitrary plugin activation via missing nonce verification
Published Mar 27, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in HasThemes HT Portfolio before 1.1.6 allows remote attackers to activate installed WordPress plugins. The plugin_activation handler accepts a caller-supplied location through admin-ajax.php without verifying a CSRF nonce before activating that plugin. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to submit the forged request, and it can only activate plugins already present but inactive.
