Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attribute
Published Feb 21, 2023 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Stored XSS in GS Plugins GS WooCommerce Product Slider before 1.5.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a shortcode. The shortcode renderer returns the user-supplied theme attribute in page output without validation or contextual escaping. Contributor access is required to save the payload, and script execution occurs when a user views the embedded shortcode, exposing that user's browser session to data access or actions.
