Stored script execution via unencoded domain names
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Mar 31, 2025
Stored XSS in Modoboa before 2.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser via a domain name. The domain administration code inserts stored domain text from a title attribute and the domain-name field into HTML sinks without encoding it. The attacker needs domain-management access, and a victim must view the affected administrative interface; the script runs with that victim's browser privileges.
