CVE-2023-0438Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Domain permission removal via state-changing GET

Published Jan 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 3, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in Modoboa before 2.0.4 allows remote attackers to remove domain permissions through a crafted link. The remove_permission view accepted a state-changing GET request; the patch restricts it to DELETE and changes the domain page to issue an AJAX DELETE. A logged-in user with admin.add_domain permission must follow the attacker-controlled request, which revokes a selected domain administrator's access.
