Administrator-session script execution via unescaped msg
Published Apr 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025
Reflected XSS in Imthiaz Rafiq WordPress Amazon S3 Plugin before 1.6 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser. The options page writes the msg query parameter into its response without sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires an administrator to open a crafted plugins.php URL, after which attacker-controlled script runs with that user's WordPress session privileges.
