Post metadata deletion via unvalidated AJAX actions
Published Jan 19, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Social Warfare 4.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete post metadata via forged AJAX requests. Several AJAX action handlers accept state-changing requests without correctly validating a WordPress nonce, enabling post metadata deletion and network access-token resets. Exploitation requires an administrator to submit the forged request, such as by following an attacker-controlled link; no confidentiality impact is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
