Subscriber-level data deletion via unchecked AJAX handlers
Published Jan 19, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Social Warfare 4.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete post metadata via AJAX actions. Several AJAX handlers in SWP_Options_Page execute post-metadata deletion and network-token reset operations without checking the caller's capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and successful exploitation can remove post metadata or invalidate configured social-network access tokens.
