CVE-2023-0400

DLP bypass via uninspected mapped-drive uploads

Published Feb 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 26, 2025

Protection bypass in Trellix Data Loss Prevention 11.9.x for Windows allows local users to upload sensitive data through webmail. The endpoint agent fails to apply its upload inspection and blocking path when a web email client reads the file from a mapped drive, although the same policy blocks a local-drive file. A local low-privileged user must interact with a web email client and a mapped drive, after which protected data leaves the endpoint without the configured DLP control.
