Memory disclosure and crash via unchecked HCI responses

Buffer over-read in Zephyr RTOS 3.2 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to disclose memory or crash a device. Most callers of bt_hci_cmd_send_sync cast response-buffer data to expected structures without first checking that enough bytes remain. Exploitation requires a malicious or defective Bluetooth controller to return a truncated HCI command response; consequences are limited to information exposure and device denial of service.
