Stored XSS via unescaped modal class attribute
Published Mar 20, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
Stored XSS in real.Kit before 5.1.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through a crafted modal shortcode. The modal shortcode writes an attacker-controlled class attribute into page output without validation or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to save the payload, and execution occurs only when another user views the page containing the shortcode.
