Browser script execution via HTML ticket attachments
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stored XSS in Helpy 2.8.0 allows remote attackers to run script in a user's browser through a crafted customer ticket attachment. The attachment filter accepts an uploaded HTML document and serves its embedded script without neutralizing active content when the attachment is opened. No account is required to submit the ticket, but a user must open the stored attachment; script execution can read or alter data available to that browser session.
