CVE-2023-0355Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Sensitive-data decryption via embedded configuration key

Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025

Hard-coded key use in Akuvox E11 all versions allows remote attackers to decrypt sensitive configuration data obtained from the device. The libcfg.so AesAndBase64Encrypt routine encrypts configuration passwords with a key embedded in the firmware, which also contains the corresponding decryption code. Exploitation requires access to encrypted configuration data and user interaction under the CNA assessment; the demonstrated impact is stored-password recovery only.
