Audio and video exposure via unauthorized SIP calls
Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Improper access control in Akuvox E11 all versions allows remote attackers to obtain live audio and video through direct SIP calls. The SIP platform forwards calls without verifying that the caller owns the target edge device, so cross-account calls activate its camera and microphone. Network access to the SIP calling service is sufficient; no ownership relationship with the target device is required.
