Administrator-session script execution via debugging parameter
Published Feb 27, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Reflected XSS in ShortPixel Adaptive Images before 3.6.3 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser. The new AI Engine writes an attacker-controlled debugging parameter into a generated page without sanitizing or escaping it. Exploitation requires a high-privilege user to open a crafted request, after which the script runs in that site's origin and can act within the victim's session.
