Auth key disclosure and replacement via missing authorization
Published Mar 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 6, 2025
Missing authorization in WPCode before 2.0.7 allows remote authenticated users to retrieve or replace the WPCode Library auth key. The ajax_auth_url, store_auth_key, and delete_auth handlers validate a nonce but omit a capability check before reading, storing, or deleting the key. Contributor-level edit_posts access exposes the nonce, enabling library-account disconnection or redirection and disclosure of the existing key.
