Configuration file disclosure and modification via unauthenticated PakBus
Published Jan 25, 2023 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Improper access control in Campbell Scientific CR6, CR300, CR800, CR1000, and CR3000 allows remote attackers to access configuration files. The PakBus service on TCP port 6785 accepts unauthenticated file downloads and arbitrary uploads despite web-interface access controls, exposing plaintext credentials. Factory-default HTTP and PakBus exposure permits configuration disclosure and replacement without an account or user interaction.
