CVE-2023-0302Public exploit

Terminal manipulation via unsanitized DWARF strings

Published Jan 15, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025

ANSI escape injection in radare2 before 5.8.2 allows context-dependent attackers to alter terminal behavior via a crafted binary. The DWARF parser copies filenames and attribute strings into output and metadata without stripping ANSI escape, newline, or tab control sequences. Exploitation requires a user to process and display malicious DWARF data; the embedded controls alter terminal output and terminal-managed state.
