Media deletion via unprotected AJAX action
Published Jun 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in ExpressTech Systems Quiz and Survey Master 8.0.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete media. The qsm_remove_file_fd_question AJAX handler accepts a media_id deletion request without validating an anti-CSRF nonce, causing the browser to send the destructive request under an administrator's authenticated session. Exploitation requires an administrator with plugin access to visit attacker-controlled content, and the bounded consequence is deletion of uploaded WordPress media.
