Stored XSS via unescaped folder names
Published Feb 21, 2023 · Updated Mar 12, 2025
Stored XSS in devowl.io GmbH Real Media Library before 4.18.29 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via folder names. The folder-creation path stores names without sanitization, and the media workflow later renders those names without output escaping. Author-level permission to create a folder is required, and the script runs when another user selects that folder while uploading a file.
