Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped carousel class
Published May 8, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Stored XSS in TopDigitalTrends Ultimate Carousel For Elementor 2.1.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. The Advanced Carousel element outputs its extra-class option without validation or escaping, so an attribute-breaking value persists in a page or post. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload, and execution depends on another user viewing the embedded element.
