CVE-2023-0251

Code execution via unchecked DPA data copy

Published Feb 8, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025

Buffer overflow in Delta Electronics DIAScreen 1.2.1.23 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted DPA file. The DPA parser copies user-supplied RTC-section data into a fixed-length buffer without first validating its length. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open the file, and resulting code runs in the DIAScreen process context.
