Authenticated server-file overwrite via unchecked VQL copy

Improper privilege management in Rapid7 Velociraptor before 0.6.7-5 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite server files. The VQL copy() function checks permission to read the source but fails to require FILESYSTEM_WRITE before copying data to the caller-selected destination. An analyst-level account that can log into the GUI and run VQL in a notebook can replace configuration or other server files.
