Stored XSS via unescaped CTA block class attributes
Published Feb 27, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Stored XSS in VK All in One Expansion Unit before 9.86.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through CTA blocks. The CTA block renders its user-controlled Additional CSS class value into an HTML attribute without validation or output escaping. Contributor access, an enabled CTA Expansion feature, and a published CTA are required; the supplied proof of concept executes when a visitor opens the post and moves the pointer over the block.
