CVE-2023-0227Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Continued account access via unchecked deleted-user sessions

Published Jan 12, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2025

Insufficient session expiration in pyLoad before 0.5.0b3.dev36 allows remote authenticated users to retain account access after deletion. The Web UI is_authenticated helper trusts the session's authentication flag and username without confirming that the named user remains in the database. The attacker must hold a valid session before an administrator deletes the account; the stale session retains that account's prior authorization.
