Stored script execution via unescaped email previews
Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Stored XSS in WPManageNinja FluentSMTP before 2.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts via crafted logged email content. The email-log preview renders stored HTML email bodies without sanitizing the content or escaping it before insertion into the administrator-facing page. An Author-level or higher account must use another plugin that permits unfiltered HTML email, and an administrator must open the affected log preview; executed script runs in that administrator's browser context.
