CVE-2023-0206

Privilege escalation via arbitrary NVME SMM writes

Published Apr 22, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025

Memory corruption in NVIDIA DGX A100 SBIOS before 1.18 allows local users to modify SMRAM through the NVME SMM API. The API permits attacker-controlled writes to arbitrary System Management RAM addresses rather than constraining access to intended memory. High local privileges are required; successful exploitation can expose firmware-protected data, elevate privileges, or interrupt system service.
