CVE-2023-0199

Local data tampering or crash via out-of-bounds write

Published Apr 22, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows and Linux allows local users to tamper with data or crash the host. The kernel-mode layer handler writes beyond an allocated buffer when processing attacker-controlled input; NVIDIA has not identified the handler or input structure. A low-privileged local account is required, and successful exploitation can corrupt kernel-managed data or interrupt the affected system without disclosing information.
