Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Stored XSS in the Juicer WordPress plugin before 1.11 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through shortcode attributes. The juicer shortcode returns attributes such as name into page output without validating and escaping them, so crafted event-handler markup persists in a post. Contributor-level access is required to save the shortcode, and a visitor must view the embedded post or page for the script to run in that visitor's browser.
