Stored XSS via unescaped event city metadata
Published Feb 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 26, 2025
Stored XSS in MagePeople Team WPEvently before 3.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through crafted event city metadata. WPEvently stores contributor-supplied city post metadata without validation or escaping, then inserts it into the event-list shortcode output. Contributor access and a page containing the shortcode are required; the script executes when another user views and interacts with the rendered event listing.
