Authenticated root command execution via firmware argument injection

Command injection in D-Link DWL-2600AP firmware 4.2.0.17 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands as root. The restricted-shell firmware-upgrade command accepts shell metacharacters in its argument, causing BusyBox ash to interpret an embedded command instead of treating it as data. A valid account and access to the standalone-mode CLI over Telnet, SSH, or a console are required; successful exploitation grants unrestricted root-shell control.
