CVE-2023-0119Network attack vector

Session theft via unescaped stored host comments

Published Sep 12, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stored XSS in Foreman's host comments in Red Hat Satellite 6.13 and 6.14 allows remote authenticated users to run script in other users' browsers. The host list renders the stored comment field as HTML instead of escaping it as text, so attacker-supplied markup executes when another user opens the list. An existing account and a victim viewing the affected Hosts page are required; successful execution exposes session data and credentials and permits requests in the victim's context.
