Stored XSS via unescaped review-grid shortcode attributes
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 2, 2025
Stored XSS in CusRev Customer Reviews for WooCommerce before 5.17.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcodes. The reviews_grid shortcode outputs the color_ex_brdr and color_ex_bcrd attributes without sufficient validation or context-appropriate escaping. A contributor must embed the crafted shortcode while shortcode support is enabled and a review exists; the script runs when a user opens the page.
